August 2011
Dear Beverly Vista Parents, Students and Families;
The Beverly Vista Staff joins with me in welcoming you to the 2011-2012 school year. We take pride in providing an environment in which students can learn, are challenged and develop respect for the diversity of our student body. Student success is achieved through positive character traits, outstanding leadership and academic rigor provided by our teachers.
Our programs are designed to stimulate growth and achievement for every child as well as to provide a comprehensive education necessary for the future. Curricula will relate to environment and culture, recognize today’s society as economically and politically multicultural and global, and stress use of technological resources that manipulate data and words. Our goal is to give each student the tools necessary to become lifetime learners by developing their knowledge, strengths and talents. More efficient use of time, exploring different learning styles and educational activities will be in the forefront. Adherence to the old tried-and-true methods will not be rewarded. Exploring new ways will be encouraged continually. We foster working collaboratively to enhance and expand our programs.
Our PTA is essential to the school’s success. They support us by raising money to enhance our curriculum with enrichment programs and activities for students. Some of these benefits are science programs, technology upgrades, music festival fees, field trips and assemblies dealing with pertinent topics. We urge you to become a member of PTA, and to contribute to the BV Annual Fund so we can maintain and strengthen our educational programs.
We are faced with numerous challenges ahead and will work tirelessly to make sure that we meet and overcome them. Beverly Vista is blessed with special students, a dedicated and skilled staff, supportive parents and families, and caring friends. I am both honored and excited to work with all of you again this year.
